The Supplier Performance and Recovery Kit HandbookChapter 2 of 18

The kit at a glance

Sixteen tools, each a working file you can use on its own, built to fit together. They share one vocabulary (statuses, ratings, record numbers), and the worked example in each uses the same plant and the same suppliers, so you can follow one story across them.

Three tools from other kits sit next to these: the Corrective Action Request template (AQL-B01) for the request a SCAR sends, the Nonconformance Management Log (AQL-D19) where supplier-caused NCRs start, and the Management Review Input Data Pack (AQL-F03), where the supplier figures end up each quarter.

How the records connect

  • The qualification assessment (C01) decides the scope and status that go on the approved list (C03), and its conditions are tracked until they close.
  • The risk matrix (C02) sets each supplier's rating, which sets the re-evaluation interval on the list, the surveillance plan (C06, C07) and the business review cadence (C05).
  • The special process matrix (C16) checks that each source, including sub-tiers, is qualified for the exact process; its findings feed the list and the risk rating.
  • The scorecard (C04) takes its counts from receiving, the ERP and the SCAR register (C08); its rating goes back onto the list and the risk matrix.
  • A Red or slipping scorecard, a repeat or a failed corrective action starts the escalation ladder (C10): an improvement plan (C11), a change of status on the list, or a recovery plan (C12).
  • The business review (C05) presents all of it to the supplier's management, and the Summary tabs feed management review.
