Supplier Corrective Action Register
Track every corrective action you request from a supplier through containment, root cause, plan, implementation and an effectiveness check, with a due date on each stage and a register that shows what is late, what was sent back and what came back.

The problem it solves
Supplier corrective actions are where supplier quality time disappears. The request goes out, the answer comes back weeks later with 'operator retrained', it gets accepted because chasing is exhausting, and three months later the same defect arrives under a new number. Most logs record only the issue date and a closing date, so nobody can see which stage is stuck, which suppliers have their root causes sent back, or which closed actions failed later. This register tracks each SCAR stage by stage with its own due and accepted dates, reopens an action whose effectiveness check fails instead of opening a new one, and links each SCAR to the supplier's approval status and scorecard.
Who uses it
Supplier quality engineers, who issue and follow SCARs; quality managers, who review the register and decide escalations; buyers, who need to know which suppliers are under corrective action.
When
Whenever you ask a supplier for a corrective action (with the request itself on the CAR template, AQL-B01); review weekly; summarize monthly for the scorecard and quarterly for management review.
