The problem it solves

Supplier audits often become a tour and a document review: the supplier shows its quality manual and its certificate, the auditor ticks boxes, and the report says 'satisfactory'. Six months later a sub-tier source nobody approved, a drawing a revision behind or a gauge out of date turns up in a nonconformance on your part. This checklist audits the supplier through your own parts: 51 checks across 18 areas, each with what to sample, the evidence you saw recorded line by line, findings written with the requirement and the evidence, and the follow-up tracked until the corrective action is verified.

When

For approval audits of new suppliers, surveillance audits on the interval your Surveillance plan sets (AQL-C06), process audits, and audits for cause after an escape or a repeat rejection.
