AS9100D clause 9.3.2 lists what the review must consider; your standard names an owner for each. Read your own copy of the standard for the requirement. In practice, these are the inputs, what to bring for each, and the decision each one most often leads to:
| Input | What to bring | A good headline sounds like | Decisions it often leads to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Status of previous actions | The register Summary and every open line (F06) | 3 of 5 due were done on time; two past due, one re-dated twice | Re-date with a reason, escalate, or cancel |
| Changes in internal and external issues | Changes logged since the last review (F03 Context changes) | Customer requirements revised; a key person left; the only anodizer at capacity | Accept into contract review; add a risk; fund a fix |
| Customer satisfaction and feedback | The customer's own scorecard, complaints, returns | Rating 94 percent against 95, recovering after an escape | A recovery plan and who sends it |
| Quality objectives | Each objective, four quarters (F10) | 1 of 4 met; delivery, escapes and scrap short | Add, change or resource an objective |
| Process performance and measurement | Capability, SPC reactions, calibration recall | 88 percent of key characteristics capable; recall clear | Capability work; often none needed |
| Product conformity and nonconformities | Yield, NCRs, scrap and rework cost, escapes (F08, F09) | Yield back on target; 12 of 31 NCRs from 2nd-shift setups | A resource or process change on the top cause |
| Corrective action | Open, past due, shown effective (B09) | 14 open, 2 past due; 80 percent shown effective | New owners or dates; escalation |
| Audit results | Program status; internal, registrar and customer findings | On plan; one repeat finding | A change to how findings are closed |
| External providers | Scorecard, escalations, open requests | Supplier delivery 86.9 percent; one supplier drives most of it | A second source; an escalation |
| On-time delivery | Delivery to promise date and the causes of late lines | 93.6 percent; 45 percent of late lines from supplier delays | Usually covered by the supplier and resource decisions |
| Adequacy of resources | Staffing, overtime, maintenance, training, each need with a cost | 4 open positions; overtime 11 percent of hours | Approve a hire, a contractor, a shift pattern |
| Actions on risks and opportunities | Register changes; actions done and effective (F13) | 4 high risks; one rated too low | Register changes; new risk actions |
| Opportunities for improvement | Ideas, savings, two or three named opportunities | Best quarter of the year for ideas | Choose which opportunities to pursue |
The annual review also covers the quality policy and whether it still fits, the scope of the quality system, the coming year's objectives and resources, and any review items your customers require.
