The problem it solves
Most small aerospace shops measure quality in five places: the ERP's delivery report, the NCR log, a customer portal, the corrective action list and finance's scrap figure. Each is looked at alone, percentages are averaged when they should be weighted, targets live in someone's head, and nobody can say on the first Monday of the month which measures are off target and which are getting worse. This workbook takes one line of counts a month and turns it into a scorecard: every measure against its target over the last three months, the direction against the three months before, the twelve-month figure and the months on target, with the lines that need action in crimson.
Who uses it
Quality directors and managers who report quality performance, and the general manager who reviews it.
When
Enter the month's counts in the first week of the next month, read the Scorecard at the monthly quality meeting, and take it to management review as the backbone of the data pack (AQL-F03).
