The Management Review Kit HandbookChapter 14 of 23

Objectives, risks and performance in the review

Three inputs are strongest when they come from registers kept all year rather than assembled for the review.

  • Quality objectives (AQL-F10). Each objective's quarterly results, against target, with its open and overdue actions. The chair sets the status at review (on track, at risk, off track) and the minutes record why. The annual review sets next year's objectives on the same register, each with resources and an action plan.
  • Risks and opportunities (AQL-F13). The high risks line by line, actions overdue, actions done but not re-rated, and new risks from the other inputs. Each decision on a risk is an output in the minutes and a line in the action register.
  • Performance (AQL-F08). The quarter's figures for customer, conformity, corrective action, supplier and delivery measures, added up from the months, with the direction and months on target that tell management whether a target is being met as a habit.
