The IA9100 Transition Package GuideChapter 4 of 18

The transition workflow

IA9100 draft: based on the IAQG's published changes. IA9100 is not yet final, and the final text may change these topics and clause numbers.

The package runs one workflow, in two halves: before the final text is published (Phase 0 of the roadmap, AQL-H09) and after it. The shaded boxes are decisions: Yes continues down, No goes to the note on the right.

  1. Self-check from the records (H01); the internal audit can supply evidence (H11).
  2. Planning matrix: where each item lives, where you stand, band, owner, window (H02).
  3. Impact (H08), risks (H04), documents (H05) and training (H06) laid out.
  4. Decision: Management approved the plan, owners and money, on the minutes (H07, H10)? If yes, continue to the next step.
No:Bring back costs and options; do the no-cost Do now items meanwhile.
  5. Do now items done, each closed on its record; monthly review; quarterly self-check.
  6. Final text published: read it against the matrix; re-band; re-brief management (H09 Phase 1).
  7. Build, then run the records: documents, training, suppliers, new records (H05, H06, H03).
  8. Decision: Internal audit to the final text clean of significant findings (H11)? If yes, continue to the next step.
No:Corrective action; re-audit those areas before booking the audit.
  9. Management review of readiness; the registrar's transition audit when it schedules it.
