The IA9100 Transition Package GuideChapter 10 of 18

Internal audit

IA9100 draft: based on the IAQG's published changes. IA9100 is not yet final, and the final text may change these topics and clause numbers.

Internal auditors already sample the records the themes depend on. The internal audit planning guide (AQL-H11) shows how to add a second question to the audits already on the program: what to sample for each theme, what to ask, and what good looks like. Until the final text is published and adopted, the criteria stay AS9100D, your own system and your customers' requirements: anything draft-related is logged as a transition observation with its change item ref and carried to the planning matrix, never raised as a nonconformity. After the final text, a full internal audit against it, by an auditor who did not build the changes, comes before the registrar's transition audit.

A management aid, not certification or a registrar audit. Using it does not by itself show conformity to AS9100D or any other standard, and your customers' requirements may add to it.

Clause numbers refer to AS9100D (SAE AS9100 Rev D) unless another document is named. The standards' text is not reproduced here: use your own licensed copy.
