- Week 1: buy the final text. Tell management it is out and that the plan will be re-read against it within a month. Do not start rewriting documents.
- Weeks 1 to 3: read it against the planning matrix, line by line. Mark each line unchanged, reworded, moved, strengthened, weakened or dropped. Add lines for anything the draft summaries did not mention.
- Week 3: re-run the self-check against the final text, or update Where we stand on the matrix directly. Re-band: most Hold for the final text items become Plan it.
- Week 4: re-rate the impact of changed lines; write briefs for new Highs. Read the IAQG's and the registrar's transition arrangements and put real dates beside the windows.
- Weeks 5 to 6: update the document planner with the final clause numbers (search the clauses-cited column), and the training needs with any new groups.
- Weeks 7 to 8: brief management with the updated scorecard and the revised plan; ask for the budget and the dates; minute them. The build phase starts.
