Four tools do the work. The register is the backbone; the other three hang off its lines.
| AQL | Tool | Format | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| E01 | Calibration and Measurement Risk Register | Excel, PDF | Every instrument: status, due date, what it measures, how far a failure would reach; a one-page impact assessment |
| E02 | Out-of-Tolerance Impact Assessment | Excel, PDF | An instrument found out of tolerance: the event, the lot-by-lot trace, the decision, the OOT log |
| E03 | MSA Planning Worksheet | Excel, PDF | Which measurement systems need a study, which study, by when, and the verdicts |
| E04 | Gage R&R Study Data Sheet | Excel, PDF | Running a variable gauge study by the average and range method |
How they connect, in one paragraph: every instrument has a line on the register (E01) that says what it measures and how far a failure would reach. When a certificate shows an out-of-tolerance result, the register line is set to Open and an assessment (E02) traces every lot the instrument accepted since it was last known good. Where an instrument decides acceptance of a key characteristic or feeds a capability number, a line on the MSA plan (E03) says which study proves it fit, and the gauge study (E04) produces the evidence. The study reference goes back on the register line, the assessment reference goes on the register and the OOT log, and the whole picture is reviewed weekly and monthly.
Other tools in the library meet this kit at its edges:
| AQL | Tool | Where it meets this kit |
|---|---|---|
| E06 | Process Capability (Cp/Cpk) Calculator | A capability number that rests on a gauge in this kit |
| E05 | SPC Process Monitoring Worksheet | A control chart on a characteristic a kit gauge measures |
| E07 | Control Plan Template | Naming the gauge, its study and the reaction plan on each line |
| E08 | Manufacturing Process Risk Assessment | Measurement failures as process risks |
| D19 | Nonconformance Management Log | Product found nonconforming by an impact assessment |
| B08 | CAPA Effectiveness Verification Worksheet | A corrective action on the calibration system itself |
