The problem it solves
A control plan is where the risk assessment, the drawing and the first article turn into what the shop floor actually does. In many shops it is written once for a customer submission and never touched again: reaction plans that say 'notify supervisor', key characteristics with no gauge study or capability behind them, and controls that no longer match the router. This template carries the columns customers expect under AS9145 and AS9103, checks every line for what is missing, and counts the gaps so the plan can be kept honest at every revision.
Who uses it
Manufacturing and quality engineers who own the process; supervisors and inspectors who work to it.
When
Before first article and production release; at every drawing, process, tooling or supplier change; after a corrective action changes a control; and before a customer source inspection or audit.
Free to use, change and copy, in your own organization or with your clients; add your own logo, keep the Aegis credit. Part of: FAI and Production Readiness Kit. Clause references: 8.5.1, 8.1, 8.1.2 (with 7.1.5 and 8.3.5) (numbers only; use your own licensed copy of the standard).
A management aid, not certification or a registrar audit. Using it does not by itself show conformity to AS9100D or any other standard.
