The Quality Performance Kit is seven tools that feed each other. The dashboard (AQL-F08) is the front page: twelve measures from one line of counts a month. The NCR trend analysis (AQL-F09) and the cost of poor quality worksheet (AQL-F11) explain what the dashboard shows. The objectives and KPI register (AQL-F10) says what each measure means and which ones carry an objective. The CAPA aging dashboard (AQL-B09) and the audit readiness command center (AQL-A03) watch the two systems that most often decide whether an audit or a customer review goes well. The recovery report (AQL-F12) is how a serious problem is reported upward until it is closed. Everything ends up in management review, run with the Management Review Kit.
| AQL | Tool | Format | Use it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| F08 | Quality Performance Dashboard | Excel | Every month: twelve measures from plain counts, against target |
| F09 | NCR Trend Analysis Spreadsheet | Excel | Every month: what changed in the NCRs, and where to look |
| F10 | Quality Objectives and KPI Register | Excel | Setting objectives; defining every measure once |
| F11 | Cost of Poor Quality Worksheet | Excel | Each quarter, and whenever a fix needs money |
| F12 | Executive Quality Recovery Report | PowerPoint | When executives or a customer need a recovery reported |
| B09 | Corrective Action Aging and Program Health Dashboard | Excel | Weekly CAPA review; monthly program health |
| A03 | Audit Readiness Command Center | Excel | Weekly readiness check; before every audit |
How the information flows, in one line: the source systems feed monthly counts into the dashboard; the dashboard shows what is off target; the NCR trend and the cost worksheet show why and how much; the objectives register records what the business committed to and the actions behind it; the CAPA and readiness dashboards show whether the problems found are being fixed; and the monthly meeting turns all of it into decisions, which roll up each quarter into management review.

Getting each tool ready
| Tool | Set up once | Each month or quarter | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| F08 Quality Performance Dashboard | Keep or change the twelve measures; set Better when, targets and watch limits; load twelve months of counts | One line of counts in the first three working days | Months out of order; a measure renamed on the scorecard but not on the data tab |
| F09 NCR Trend Analysis | Fit the operation, defect and cause lists to your shop; load a year of NCRs | NCRs classified the day they are raised; trend and Paretos read on day 4 | Changing a category list mid-year, which breaks the trend |
| F10 Objectives and KPI Register | Write the year's objectives with plans; define every headline measure | Quarterly results; action status at the monthly meeting | Objectives with no action; KPIs nobody reviews |
| F11 Cost of Poor Quality | Agree elements and hourly rates with finance | Cost entries when finance closes the month; summary each quarter | Estimates not marked; sales from a different source than finance's |
| F12 Recovery Report | Nothing until a recovery starts; then agree closure criteria in the first report | Same eight slides, same day each month | Setbacks left off the slides |
| B09 CAPA Aging Dashboard | Load the open corrective actions and the last year's closures | Updated as actions move; read weekly | Due dates that quietly slide |
| A03 Audit Readiness Command Center | Load the nine registers from existing logs | Read weekly with the line owners; 30/60/90 plan updated | Registers that stop being updated between audits |
