The Quality Performance Kit HandbookChapter 11 of 20

Objectives that get done

Quality objectives are the few results the business commits to for the year. The objectives register (AQL-F10) holds each one with what makes it an objective rather than a target: the policy commitment it serves, how it is measured, the baseline, the target and date, the owner, the resources, how results will be evaluated, who it was communicated to, and at least one action with an owner and a date. Its Planning gaps column names whatever is missing.

Each quarter the result goes in and the register shows whether the latest result meets the target and how many quarters have. At management review, the chair adds a judgment (on track, at risk, off track) that takes in the actions and what is coming, and the minutes record the reason.
