Resource Library/Workforce Competence/Quality Awareness Briefing Checklist
Quality Awareness Briefing Checklist
A short, practical briefing a supervisor can give at the start of a shift: what the area makes and who flies it, how each person's work affects conformity and safety, what to do when something is wrong, and a check afterward that the message landed.

The problem it solves
Awareness is usually handled as a slide deck at onboarding and a signature on the quality policy. Ask someone on the floor a month later what the quality objectives are, which features of the part in front of them matter to safety, or what to do when a gauge will not go, and the answers are vague. Auditors ask exactly those questions. This checklist turns awareness into a short, regular briefing at the workplace, in the area's own terms, given by the supervisor, covering the topics AS9100D expects people to be aware of, and followed by a check that people can answer the questions that matter.
Who uses it
Supervisors, team leads and quality staff who brief production, inspection, shipping and support staff.
When
At onboarding and on transfer to a new area; once a year as a refresher; after an escape, a significant nonconformance or a near miss; when a customer requirement, a key characteristic or a procedure changes; and before work starts on a new program.
