Counterfeit Parts Prevention Plan
A written plan you adopt and edit: which parts and materials are at risk, where you may buy them, what your purchase orders flow down, what receiving checks by risk, how traceability is kept, and exactly what happens to a suspect part, from the shelf it goes on to who is told.

The problem it solves
Most small aerospace shops have a line in the quality manual that says counterfeit parts are prevented, and a buyer who knows not to use brokers. Then a rush job, an out-of-stock distributor and a cheaper quote meet on a Friday afternoon. Or a certificate arrives with a heat number that does not match the bar, and nobody knows whether to send it back, scrap it or report it. This template is a complete plan written to be adopted: what is in scope, the source rules, the flow-down, receiving checks set by risk, traceability, a defined path for suspect parts that keeps them out of the supply chain, reporting, training and monitoring. Fill in the brackets, delete what does not apply, add your customers' requirements and issue it under your own document control.
Who uses it
Quality managers who own counterfeit prevention, with purchasing, receiving inspection and stores, who carry it out; the plant manager who approves it.
When
When you write or rewrite your counterfeit parts procedure, when a customer flows down counterfeit requirements you have not met before, when you start buying electronic parts or from independent distributors, or after a suspect part shows the old procedure did not work.
Free to use, change and copy, in your own organization or with your clients; add your own logo, keep the Aegis credit. Clause references: 8.1.4 (with 7.2, 8.4.1, 8.4.2, 8.4.3, 8.5.2, 8.7.1) (numbers only; use your own licensed copy of the standard).
A management aid, not certification or a registrar audit. Using it does not by itself show conformity to AS9100D or any other standard.
