The problem it solves

Audit preparation eats weeks, and most of that time goes on finding evidence, not fixing the system: pulling records, chasing the people who hold them, and reconciling counts that do not agree. Gaps surface late, when there is no time left to close them. This self-assessment gives you 44 ready-made checks across 15 areas, each with the evidence to pull. You record where the evidence lives, how long it took to find, whether it is there and whether it holds up when someone opens it. Every gap gets a risk rating, an owner and a date, and the Summary shows a plain readiness count by area.

Who uses it, and when

Quality managers and directors preparing for a registrar, customer or internal audit, with the process owners who hold the records. Run it about 90 days before an audit, again at 30 days, and after any major change. Some shops run it quarterly as part of internal audit planning.
